The original finish of the table has been modified with coats of a custom dark navy blue paint by Benjamin Moore Advance over two primer coats to better fit in with today's interior designs. The top was filled and sanded prior to painting to correct some imperfections. The distressing marks in the wood are part of the original design of the table. The construction is solid and well made. The escutcheon plate on the front is for decoration only and a key is not required to open the drawer.
